"Choose Your Own Journey" in Math Class

Within the story, students make choices and solve problems to lead to their next page. Differentiated, self-correcting math practice that's great for a substitute day
These booklets are my favorite resource to leave for a substitute day, because they are completely self-guided and they even correct the students as they go through independently.

The self-correcting features make it so easy to differentiate without needing the teacher for a day!

They take a lot of paper to prep, so the best way to do it is to get them ready in the days before school starts (or when you have a pre-planned sub day).

The kids LOVE them because they make their own choices throughout the story and get to see what happens!

Check out this dive into how the booklets work:

This looks like so much fun! So much better than a regular worksheet. I'm going to check out the fractions and right triangles to see if I can use either with 4th graders.

Thanks so much, Lisa!
I really appreciate your comment :)
They may be a bit above 4th grade (for sure the right triangles / trig one is way over their heads) but if you try the fractions one, I hope they love it! :)

Hi...I absolutely love these! Do you have any for 4th grade math?

Hi Veronica!
Thanks so much! I have not taught 4th, sorry!
I am guessing the fractions one is still a little beyond them (but of course you can check it out and review the skills included)... That is the lowest level one that I have so far. Thanks! Have a great weekend.
