Syllabus for Math Class (Doodle - Style!): Free Printable

A Creative Syllabus for Math Class - Free Download
Pin it
Part of getting into the back-to-school mindset is organizing all the ideas and files for the first week of school.  The syllabus is one of those necessary, but dull things that I have tweaked a few times.  I was looking for a more creative approach.

Since I've been in the doodle note groove, and am constantly amazed by the benefits, even unexpected ones, I decided to put together a doodle style syllabus to get the kids a little more engaged in the process of going over the course expectations for math class.
Free Syllabus Template -- Doodle Style -- From Math Giraffe

As you go over how each aspect of your classroom will work, the students can fill in the blocks and also activate both sides of the brain by embellishing, coloring, and doodling on the sheet.

The template has two sides, and room for extra/additional info for anything that is not specifically included that you would like to cover.

Click the image below to download the syllabus
to use in your own classroom.  Enjoy!

Hi Laura,
When you click the image, the download should automatically begin. (I just made that text bold and bigger to help point it out, sorry it was not as clear earlier.) Be sure your browser is not blocking it :)
Thanks so much!

Hi! I LOVE your Doodle Style Syllabus! I was hoping to use it for my class this year. As I looked at it, I realized that there were a few categories that I would need to change to fit the needs of my syllabus. Provided that I include your copyright, is it permissible for me to create a similar document that includes the categories I need for my class? Thank you for your time!

Hey Megan (That's my daughter's name!)
:)
Yes, I can send you a blank version that you can add your own text boxes, if that would help. Email me at mathgiraffe.bd@gmail.com so I can send it your way.
Have an awesome evening!

What program do you use for making these templates? They are really cool! I can see using them in the interactive notebooks my students use.

Hi! :)
I use PowerPoint, since it is so easy to move, layer, and arrange all the shapes and text together so smoothly. Then I save as a PDF for printing! :) Thanks so much.

I'm having trouble figuring out what the top section of page 2 is. Also, the part under the supplies required section... Is there anyway you could tell me what the topics are so I can have it prepared what I want to say for them to fill that part out?

Hi Bethany,
I just emailed you and sent a blank version your way :)
It can sometimes be a problem from an out-of-date Adobe PDF reader. An update may do the trick. The text is "Tutoring/Extra Help" at the top and "Grading" down below. Thanks so much! Have a great night!

Is there a way to get this doodle-style syllabus as a Word document/blank template that I can adapt for my English classroom? I tried looking on TPT but didn't see anything. I love this idea but need to make it work for my subject.
Thank you!

I love this idea and would love to use it in my classes. I am able to download it, but when I print it there is a black rectangle behind the books that blocks the circle for homework. Would you be willing to send me an original copy so I can remove the black rectangle? I've tried printing it several different formats to see if that takes away the big black rectangle. Thanks so much for your blog and your help!!

Hi Jill,
Most likely, it's trying to print from your browser instead of actually downloading. Try using a PDF program like Adobe to read and print the file, instead of a preview program or just printing directly from the web browser. If your Adobe is up to date and you still have trouble, just let me know at mathgiraffe.bd@gmail.com and I can email it ;) Thanks, and have a great day!
